Abstract
350,938. Thermionic valves. BARTON, F., 41, Glebe Avenue, Enfield, Middlesex, and ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd., Bush House, Aldwych, London. March 15, 1930, No. 8398. [Class 39 (i).] The grids of vacuum electric tubes with oxidecoated cathodes are provided with a coating layer of a metal which inherently prevents or reduces grid emission and does not inhibit cathode emission, silver, gold, copper, and lead being examples of such metals. In an example, a molybdenum grid provided with a nickel supporting wire is silverplated in a bath containing a mixed solution of potassium cyanide and potassium silver cyanide. After washing and drying the grid is placed in a vacuum oven at 700‹ C. for thirty minutes. Specification 250,485, [Class 39 (i), Electric lamps, Arcs &c.], is referred to.
