Abstract

350,151. Dish - washing machines. STEENSEN, S. J., 14, Damplass, Ullevaal Haveby, Oslo, Norway. April 23, 1930, No. 12561. [Class 138 (i).] Relates to washing machines of the type in which the dish basket is rotated by impinging jets of the cleaning liquid in a container having a sump or liquid - containing part, and consists in the provision in the sump of a combined pump and sprayer or liquidspreading device. As shown, the dish basket is mounted to rotate on a shaft 8 eccentric to a shaft 11 on which rotates the combined centrifugal pump and spreader 13. The pump is driven by a motor 12 and has channels for delivering the liquid, which channels are turned at their delivery ends away from the direction of rotation to reduce the impinging effect of the jet on the crockery basket. The basket is provided with a spindle 8 rotating in a hub 7 forming part of a bridge-piece 6, which carries baffles 23 for assisting in the even distribution of the liquid. Spirally-arranged baffles are also arranged in the base of the container to prevent rotation being set up in the liquid.
