Abstract
349,375. Bicycle supports. TÍRNGREN, E., Kristdala, Sweden. July 29, 1930, No. 22784. Convention date, June 20. [Class 136 (i).] A support attached to a cycle frame comprises a clamping device consisting of two members 3, 4. secured to the chain stays 6 &c., the member 4 being formed with lugs 4<1>, 16 forming bearings for the upper arm 9 of a cranked prop 10, which is held in the raised or lowered position by the engagement of a ball, roller, &c. 21, carried by a plate 20, with one or other of two depressions 17, 18, Fig. 5, in the lug 16, under the action of a compression spring 13, the ball &c. passing along a slot 19 from one depression to the other. The plate 20 is loose on the arm 9, and is prevented from rotating relatively to the prop by means of projections 22 engaging each side thereof. The parts of the spring catch may be reversed or otherwise arranged. The lower end of the prop 10 is provided with an adjustable foot 11 adapted to screw into the prop and to be locked by a nut 12.
