Abstract
346,028. Steam turbine plant. AKT.- GES. BROWN, BOVERI, ET CIE, Baden, Switzerland. Dec. 30, 1929, No. 39794. Convention date, Dec. 29, 1928. [Class 110 (iii).] The ends of the H.P. and L.P. cylinders 1 and 6 of a turbine are not fixed directly to the bearing block 3 but are connected together by means of tension or compression members which may take the form of brackets 5 and 7 pivotally joined to the bearing block 3 by pins 8 near the turbine axis. The casing connecting members may be cramps, straps or the like which may be pivoted either to the bearing block or to the cap 9. At the outer end of the shaft for the H.P. turbine the bearing pedestal 2 and support bracket 4 may have curved bearing surfaces. Specification 205,997 [Class 110 (iii), Turbines &c.], is referred to.
