Abstract
344,257. Plugs. FERGUSSON, G. M., 31, Royal Crescent, Holland Park, London. April 3, 1930, No. 10587. [Class 26.] A plug for a wash basin, bath, or other fixed receptacle for a liquid, which is emptied by removal of said plug, comprises a body b, Figs. 1 and 2, in the form of a conical frustum having fixed therein or integral therewith a central metallic stem a passing completely through the plug and to which are fixed one or more lugs c adapted to fit in corresponding grooves in the socket, in the manner of a bayonet joint, to retain the plug in the closed position. In a modification (Fig. 9) a lug c on the stem engages below a grid formed in the socket. In a further modification (Fig. 6) lugs c are secured to a cap g loosely attached to the stem. In a further modification, the lugs engage other lugs secured to the top of the socket. The socket d may be adapted to be secured within an existing socket n (Fig. 11). Specification 325,264, [Class 26, Closets &c.], is referred to.
