Abstract
Salts of benzylmorphine with alkyl sulphonic acids of low molecular weight, which are readily soluble in water, are prepared by interaction of the free base with the free acid or by double decomposition of their salts. Examples are given of the preparation of the methane and ethane sulphonic acid salts of benzylmorphine. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) describes also the use of alkyl sulphonic acids containing not more than five carbon atoms and specifically mentions propane and isopropane sulphonic acids. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
