Abstract
The product obtained by heating leucite with limestone and a flux such as ferric oxide, after cooling and grinding, is leached with a solution of potassium carbonate, whereby the formation, during leaching, of insoluble calcium aluminate from any excess of lime present is prevented. Alternatively leaching may be effected by water, and any calcium aluminate formed be then extracted as potassium aluminate by potassium carbonate solution. Specification 226,819 [Class 1 (ii), Inorganic compounds, other than &c.], is referred to.
