Abstract
342,060. Directive wireless signalling. TELEFUNKEN GES. FUR DRAHTLOSE TELEGRAPHIE, 12, Hallesches Ufer, Berlin. Dec. 2, 1929, No. 36932. Convention date, Feb. 19. [Class 40 (v).] To reduce fading, circularly-polarized waves are radiated with a pronounced directional effect from an aerial system comprising a series of vertical linear antennµ b and a series of horizontal antennµ a arranged in parallel planes. The vertical and horizontal antennµ are energized from feed-lines E, e respectively, with a 90 phase-difference, which may be introduced by tuned networks or in any other known way. A reflecting-system similar in construction to the main aerial may be arranged a quarter wavelength behind it.
