[Class 7 (ii).] In an engine using crank-case compression. a chamber f is connected to the transfer duct c; a piston f<1> in this chamber is either set conjointly with the carburetter throttle or moves automatically to vary the pump clearance space during the induction of the charge into the crank case, thereby maintaining the delivery pressure constant. A dashpot may be applied to the piston and the device may be used with engines compressing in one end of the cylinder.
