Abstract

340,628. Motor vehicle steering indicators. HUGHES, G. W., Field House, Alcester, Warwickshire. Oct. 8, 1929, No. 30438. [Class 79 (v).] An indicating means of the kind adapted to be placed on a steering handwheel so as to indicate the normal or straight - ahead position of the steerable road wheels comprises a sheet metal strap capable of being wrapped around the rim of the steering wheel and looped and secured so as to ensure its being maintained securely in a set position by virtue of the resilience of the metal. In the construction shown the strap 6 has a circular head 6a forming the index proper and is secured on the wheel by passing the body of the strap around the wheel rim 5 and through a slot 6b in the head.
