Abstract

Tubular bobbins of yarns, threads, filaments &c. of artificial silk &c. for subsequent centrifuging in dyeing or other liquid treatment, are wound on foraminous spools whilst leaving closely set and evenly spaced radial passages 27 of small area extending through the windings allowing free passage for the liquid to ensure uniform treatment. In an example the thread &c. is wound on a flanged spool 6 ins. long and of large diameter. According to the Provisional Specification wash, bleach or <PICT:0340201/IV/1> other liquid may be applied by pressure, suction or by immersion only.
