Abstract
338,540. Coles, S. O. Cowper-. May 15, 1929. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Divided on 338,487. Preparing surfaces; moving electrodes.-In the process for electro-deposition of metals according to Specification 338,487 the surface of the rotating mandrel is prepared in order to facilitate detachment of the deposit by forming thereon a film of oxide or sulphide or by applying a film of lead which is then polished with plumbago or other polishing agent. The surface of the mandrel is preferably of copper or brass which is highly polished. The deposited metal may be removed axially as a tube or it may be divided along a line parallel to the axis and removed as a sheet.
