Abstract

338,261. Petersime, I. M. Aug. 1, 1929, [Convention date]. Hatching - appliances. - Egg trays 8 are carried on shelf shoulders 7 on the end plates 6 of a rotatable drum mounted in a cabinet at the bottom of which stacks of trays 14 are arranged to contain the eggs in which chickens are actually hatching. Stirrer blades 11 mounted on arms 12 passing along the ends of the drum move around the periphery of the drum. Moistening means 15 and air inlet and outlet openings 16, 17 are provided. The air outlet openings are controlled by slides 24. The current to the heating elements 13 is controlled by a thermostat 20. Each egg tray 1 has side walls 28 and a wire bottom 29 and spaced rods 30 extend across the trays to arrange and retain the eggs in position.
