Guards for conductors.-A temporary insulating-cover 1 for third rails 4 is made stiff enough for it to be moved by a single movement, and the top is tapered off at each end to enable a shoe to slide over it. The top may have a longitudinal rib 5 grooved at 6 to provide a hand grip. The sides terminate below the rail. The cover is made of hard rubber, vulcanized fibre, or synthetic or composite material.
