Ventilating incubators; fans, punkah and like.- The air in an incubator is circulated by means of blades 8 mounted on end less bands 6 which pass around pulleys 5 arranged so that the blades are moved in a space provided between the outer casing 1 uf the incubator and the stationary frame 2 carrying the egg trays 4. The blades, which are weighted on the lower side, hang obliquely, and as they pass from one side to the other of the egg-carrier engage with a stop which reverses their position so that the air is moved constantly in the same direction through the egg-carrier. Electric heating units 7 may be mounted on the endless bands which are then made of conducting material and insulated from each other, the current being supplied through them. The heating units, instead, may be mounted on the blades 8. Spring urged rollers. 9 ensure that the bands are kept under tension. In a modification two sets of circulating units, one on each side of the eggcarrier, may be used. To keep the air moist, ribbons that dip into a water container at their lowest position may be fixed to one of the moving blades.
