Abstract

335,462. Karnath, K. Dec. 7, 1928, [Convention date]. Actuating mechanism ; stop valves.-A stop valve in which the valve member is first lifted from its seat and then rotated into a plane parallel to the direction of flow is actuated by a series of cams mounted on a single manually actuated spindle. The valve member 7 is secured to a pair of yokes 17 embracing cams at the upper and lower parts of the casing. A snail cam 18 intermediate these cams is adapted to engage a projection 19 on the valve member to press it firmly to its seat, and when opening the valve the projecting lip engages one side of the projection to rotate the valve member to the position shown in dotted lines. A further cam 30 co-operates with a lever 33 pivoted to a fixed bracket and is adapted to engage a second projection 35 on the valve member to move it into a position opposite to its seat when closing the valve.
