Abstract

335,090. S÷derquist, W. O. N. Oct. 22, 1929. Roller blinds.-In a spring roller for a window blind, the spring, which is attached at one end to the roller, is fastened at the other end to an anchor held stationary in a supporting bracket and carried in the roller solely by a single bearing member at the end thereof. In the construction shown in Fig. 2, the inner end of the spring 7 is fastened by a pin 22 to the roller 2 and its outer end secured upon the flared end 17 of a hollow sleeve 15 rotatably supported by a disc 11 secured by two rivets 12 to the roller end cap 8, a pawl on each rivet and recess in the sleeve forming the usual centrifugal catch mechanism. The projecting part of the sleeve is slotted to provide a pair of lugs 19 to engage a pair of slots in a wall bracket to support the sleeve and prevent its rotation. In a modification, the hollow sleeve is carried by a, cup-shaped member in place of the disc 11 and the end of the spring is bent to engage a slot in the sleeve.
