Abstract

333,429. Evans, F. H. Sept. 25, 1929. Piston and tubular valves. - A hollow perforated piston valve 7 works through a soft packing or seating 12 and has a shoulder or flange 13 thereon which closes down directly upon the packing and squeezes out the same against the casing and the piston valve in a fluid tight manner, as shown. The packing may be cylindrical, as shown, or conical, and it may be disposed in an integral recess, as shown, or in a separate container sweated or otherwise secured. in the partition 4 of the casing.
