Abstract

Trouser frames.-The press-operating mechanism comprises a lever attached directly or indirectly to the top press board and detachably engaging a link pivoted to the bottom board, the lever moving against spring action to the operative pressing position or to a position in which the link is free from the lever and allows of the top board being lifted. Two constructions are described, one, as shown in Fig. 2, involving the use of a resilient lever g engaging a link f attached directly to the bottom board. The other construction is shown in Fig. 5, and comprises a lever h pivoted at h<2> and engaging a link i as shown. The link i is attached by a spring to the bottom board. A backet j<2> constitutes a foot for the press and serves to obscure from view the greater part of the spring j.
