Cylinders, heads and valve-chests for, passages of, and cooling.-A cylinder head, for an engine having its four cylinders A arranged at the corners of a square, as seen in plan in the Figure, has inlet passages j<1> - - j<4> branching from a central passage j<5> which is connected at j<6> to a carburettor; the passages j<1> - - j<4> have the same length and sectional area. Two exhaust passages h<1>, h<2> are provided and cooling fins B are arranged across the head as shown. An independent valve-chest is fixed to the head by the valve guides.
