Stoppers with valves. - A closure for collapsable tubes &c., as described in the parent Specification and comprising a bell-shaped closure member d adapted to engage a comparatively stiff shoulder c formed around the orifice b of the tube, is adapted to form an hermetic closure by recessing the shoulder on the container to make it fit slightly beneath the lower edge or shoulder of the closure member and then contracting the recessed portion to grip the shoulder of the closure member by pressure applied on the outside shoulder on the container. The shoulder f may be turned beneath the edge g of the closure member by downward pressure on the outer shoulder h but normally the pressure of the contents of the tube will displace it sufficiently, the outer shoulder h being subsequently turned upwards to release the inner shoulder from the position shown in Fig. 2 to that of Fig. 1. The shoulder f may be produced by an annular depression in the wall of the tube. In another form, short recesses extend only part way around the container and are engaged by projection on the shoulder of the closure member, a part turn of the closure member freeing the projections from the recesses.
