Abstract
329,097. Sillitti, I. March 28, 1929. Aircraft coupled in pairs or trains.-An aircraft comprises a number of conventional aeroplane units 1, 1<1>, 1<11>, 1<111> disposed in a horizontal plane at the apices of a closed rectilinear figure and connected together by means of a frame 2, 2<1>, 2<11>, 2<111> to which a platform, on which is pivotally mounted a further aeroplane, unit 5, is attached by frame members 4 so as to lie beneath the hevel of the horizontal plane and within and centrallv of the rectilinear formation. Each unit is provided with propelling and steering mechanism and all or some may be pivotally connected to the frame. structure and controlled from a pilot's seat located in one of the aeroplane units. Landing gear or floats may be attached to the unit 5 or to its platform, which unit is provided with two horizontal airscrews 6, 6<1> coaxially mounted to be independently or simultaneously driven either in the same or in opposite senses. The cabin of the unit 5 is triangular in shape of the same length but of greater width than those of the corner units.
