Abstract

Pistons.- In a piston for an internal - combustion engine, the gudgeonpin bosses 1 project outwardly from parallel webs 2, which extend across the interior of the piston. The skirt is cut away in the zone of the webs 2, with the exception of the portions 4 extending between the webs 2, and segmental webs 5, 8 extend from the upper and lower ends of the webs 2 to the interior of the skirt. The gudgeon-pin bosses, which are clear of the periphery of the piston, are integral with the webs 5 and are supported by webs 11. Webs 6 extend from the webs 5 to the piston crown.
