Abstract

327,179. Armstrong & Co., Ltd., J., (formerly Armstrong & Co. (1928), Ltd., J.), and Andrews, D. I. Dec. 29, 1928. Drying in the open.-Apparatus for drying clothes having a number of foraminous cages or which the articles are suspended and througt which hot air is forced, has means for selectively isolating one or more of the cages from the hot air supply. The cages 18 are mounted over openings 24 in the rotatable cover 17 of a casing 10, into which air is forced through a horizonta duct 11 containing a fan, a wire gauze screen and heating coils. The cover 17 is rotated so that one of its openings 24 coincides with ar opening in a frame 29, secured to the casing, which opening may be closed by louvres 26 so that a dried article may be removed while the other cages are in use. The articles are supported by adjustable brackets 32. The louvred shutter may be replaced by a fixed or sliding plate, or part of the casing may be shut off from the air supply.
