326,972. Wallis, G. L. Feb. 27, 1929.. Joints formed by molten metal and by welding. -In a joint, more particularly for cycle frames &c., between a tube 2 and a lug or bracket 3, Figs. 1 and 3, the end 1 of the tube is flattened to a chisel or wedge-shaped formation while the lug is provided with a correspondingly shaped slot 4 to receive the tube end, and the parts are then united at their adjoining surfaces by brazing, soldering or edge-welding and also, if desired, by pinning. In a T-joint between a cross-tube 5 and a tube 11, Figs. 4 and 5, the end 10 of the tube 11 is flattened as before while the tube 5 is flattened to form a double wedge-shaped portion 6, the portions 10, 6 being connected by a pair of double wedge-shaped plates 7.
