Abstract
325,909. Vinegrad, C. Dec. 12, 1928. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Tyre gaiters.-Non-skid devices consisting of chains or straps arranged transversely of the tyre are clamped by engagement with a fixed hook and a pivoted lever-catch. In the construction shown, each non-skid element comprises three hinged portions 2, 3, 4 fitted with end-eyes 6. In use, one eye is engaged over a fixed hook 9 on the rim or wheel, the other end being passed over a pivoted lever 10 which is then forcibly engaged in a slotted arm 12 of the clamping- member. As shown, the latter comprises a pair of brackets 7 adapted to be secured to a wheelspoke. For emergency purposes, a relativelyslack chain 13 may be detachably secured to the device.
