Pinless hinges.-The lids of metal boxes are hinged by bending or coiling the end of a tab b on the lid to form a coil b' which is pushed through a slot a in the wall a<1> of the box, the part a' then being bent back into its normal position so that the coil of the tab portion cannot be withdrawn. Two or more tabs and slots may be used to hinge one lid.
