Abstract

324,965. Dover, H. W. Oct. 8, 1928. Wood - screws. - The head of a screw is provided with an apertured washer fitted under the head and formed with tongues -which after the screw is in place are folded over to cover the head. An additional cover plate may also be used. A washer a adapted to be placed underneath the head of a screw is formed with triangular tongues b, Figs. 5 and 6, that can be folded over to cover the head, or, a separate cover plate c, Figs. 1, 3, may be placed over the head and the tongues b, Figs. 1, 2, bent over that. The washer a and cover plate c may be of sheet metal or celluloid, and if celluloid is used the tongues are softemed by a solvent before bending and this solvent may serve also for fixation of the tongues to the cover plate.
