Signs, supporting.- A plate 1, for use as a support for the characters 5 of a number plate or sign, is formed with a number of spaced readily displaceable parts 3, adapted when displaced to provide apertures to receive rivets or other securing members carried by the characters. The metal parts 3 may be completely extruded and replaced by any suitable material moulded into the apertures.
