Abstract

323,076. British Cast Iron Research Association, Norbury, A. L., and Morgan, E. Oct. 26, 1928. Alloys.-A heat-resisting and machinable grey cast iron contains 4-10 per cent of silicon, with or without up to 10 per cent of aluminium, fine division of the graphite flakes being obtained by suitable control of the melting temperature and rate of cooling of the casting. Ordinary amounts of phosphorus, sulphur, and manganese may be present. Specifications 22/81 and 288,861 are referred to.
