Abstract

322,643. Saulter, A. W. Dec. 3, 1928. Packing wire &c.- A spool 1 of wound wire &c. has flanges 3 of polygonal, circular or square shape which are overlapped by lateral extensions 13 of a strip 5 of cardboard or other material extending around the periphery of the reel, the extensions 13 being held between tongues 2 and the flanges 3. The ends of the strip 5 may be joined by adhesive, adhesive strip or a tongue and slot joint. Alternatively or in addition the lateral extensions 13 on either side may have eyelets through which a. wire, tape; cord, elastic &c. is threaded. The extensions 13 may also be gripped by small tongues formed in the tongues 2.
