Abstract

322,311. Winpenny, A. R. Nov. 12, 1928. Preserving eggs.-To facilitate the turning of eggs in storage boxes and the like they are supported in rotatable carriers comprised by two circular plates 11, 12 of metal, each plate being provided with a number of symmetrically arranged holes those in the one plate being large enough to accommodate the large end of an egg and those in the other being adapted to receive the small end of an egg. The plates have flanges 13 that rest on rollers 15 which may be rotated by hand or power. The eggs are assembled in the holes in the carrier plates, these being maintained in position by central bolts 14 or springs. In a modification the eggs are placed in holes in one disc forming the end plate of a cylinder. When they are in position the cylinder is filled with bran, sawdust or the like and a cover clamped on.
