Abstract

322,174. Ercolani, L. R. Aug. 27, 1928. Adjustments.-The angularly adjustable back 10 of a chair is held in adjusted position by means of a U-shaped sling 15 arranged so as to enclose the back, and which is pivotally connected to one portion, the sling being in tension when supporting the back. Fig. 2 shows such a chair, the sling 15 being pivoted at 17 and engaging notches 20 in or on the back, while Fig. 4 shows a modified construction. A spring may be provided to hold the sling in engagement with the notches, or the member 22 may be bowed inwardly for that purpose.
