Abstract

321,430. Searle, G. R. Aug. 8, 1928. Addition to 320,654. Diaphragms. - In a diaphragm for use in a speaker and comprising two plain outer discs 1, 2, which enclose a. pleated inner diaphragm 3, as described in the parent Specification, these parts are built round a central hub 8 and strengthened by a number of smaller discs 4 - - 7 of different diameters. The diaphragm carries a moving coil 14 and its edge is clamped between inner rubber or like rings 9, 10 and outer iron, aluminium or like rings 11, 12, which are supported by rigid spider arms 23 on the fixed post-magnet 18; the coil 14 can thus be accurately positioned with respect to the magnet.
