Ironing-machines with rollers rotating against concave surfaces.-The concave bed of a Decoudun machine comprises a flexible metal sheet 12 and a number of steam pipes 13 cast in soft metal blocks 14 and covered by heat non-conducting material 15, with a metal cover plate 16. The bed may be perforated throughout its thickness. The bed may be anchored to the stationary framework at one end and its other end supported by a lever and pressure-applying weight or spring arrange-. ment to maintain contact between the bed and roller. Or both ends of the bed may be anchored and the roller be moved to and from the bed to apply and release the pressure.
