Abstract
319,401. British Thomson-Houston Co., Ltd., and Read, J. C. June 21, 1928. Low - pressure metallicvapour apparatus.-To prevent back-ignition in mercury-arc rectifiers, an anode shield 3 is of cylindrical shape where it surrounds the anode 1 and is provided, below the anode, with internal radial corrugations 4 which form arc spaces 5. The shield may be formed with a cylindrical extension 6 which may be tapered inwardly at the bottom.
