Abstract
319,267. Naamlooze Vennootschap Philips' Gloeilampenfabrieken. Sept. 19, 1928, [Convention date]. Directive-signalling aerials - A number of aerials, each half a wavelength in height, and spaced a similar distance apart, are alternately connected at opposite ends to a pair of conductors forming a feeder system. They are so fed with energy as to give a broadside directional effect. As shown in Fig. 1 one feeder line energizes the upper row of aerial, whilst a second line feeds the lower row. In Fig. 2 the spacing between the aerials is reduced by introducing phase-adjusting inductance coils in the feeder lines. According to the Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) the free ends of the aerials are also connected together, Fig. 4, (Cancelled), giving a return lead which minimizes radiation from the feeder lines. In Fig. 6, (Cancelled), the aerials are closely spaced together, and are fed along the same wire, the heights varying slightly to compensate for the lateral spacing. In Fig. 7, (Cancelled), the aerials are alternately coupled in opposition to two central feeders. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
