Abstract

318,453. Arter, G. S., and James Cycle Co., Ltd. Dec. 27, 1928. Channels in internal-combustion engine parts. -Lubrication of the valve and timing-mechanism which is carried in a casing formed integral with or secured to the crank casings, is effected by supplying oil to troughs partly enclosing the cams which lift oil in their rotation. The valve and timing-mechanism is carried in the casing 2 attached to the crank casing 1 and oil supplied through passages 9, 10, 12 to the semi-circular troughs 8 is lifted by the cams 6 to their points of contact with the rockers and timing- mechanism. Oil is also supplied through the passage 11 to the bearing for the crank-shaft.
