Figures or models.-An advertising figure or model, capable of being folded flat and representing an object brought into a display position in which it is spaced from a background by the positioning of a strut member, is characterized bv the attachment of one or more tensioning strings or the like to the object, one at least of whch co-operates with the supporting strut so that when the latter is opened the string is tensioned to bring the object into the spaced display position. In the illustrated form the front part 7 forming the figure is maintained in a spaced and curved relationship relatively to the backing 5 by the tension in cords 8 set up by the unfolding of the supporting leg 9.
