Abstract
317,354. Barnett, D. E. May 11, 1928. Plug couplings.-An insulating sleeve 1, having an internal screw-thread and reduced in diameter at one end R1 receives a plug, socket, or spade terminal member 5, 6 at one end and a wire clamping member 5, 4 at the other, the wire passing through a longitudinal hole SH5, H4 in the clamping-member, or through a lateral hole H1 in the sleeve and its end being clamped between the clamping-member and the plug or socket member and being accommodated if necessary in a slot S4 in the camping-member. The clamping-member may project from the sleeve, Fig. 2<a>, and have an insulating cap or nut 2, applied thereto, or the socket member may project. Fig. 3, and have a nut 2 applied thereto to fix the sleeve 1 with its reduced end R1 in a hole in a base or panel P. The plug 6 has a slot at each end, the slots being at right-angles, to enable the plug to be inserted in the socket-member 5.
