314,587. Carpmael, A., (I. G. Farbenindustrie Akt.-Ges.). March 31, 1928. Wool-fat, purifying.-Bleached pure wool fat is obtained by agitating impure wool fat emulsions under pressure and at temperatures above 100‹ C. and preferably at 160‹ C, with a bleaching and reducing agent such as sodium bisulphite or hydro sulphite, dilute sulphurous acid, formaldehyde hydrosulphite, &c. The treatment may be carried out in an autoclave in which a pressure of 6-7 atmospheres is generated.
