Abstract
314,390. Schleper, J. F., (Assignees of Pelger, W. D.). June 26, 1928, [Convention date]. Current detectors. - A testing device comprises a container 1 of insulating material in the form of a handle in which is arranged a neon or other glowdischarge lamp 2 adapted for connection to different voltages. The container 1 has a slit 3 for observing the lamp 2 and is provided with insulating caps 4, 5 fitted with insulated contacts 6, 7 for connecting testing - leads 12, 14. At the inner side of each cap the contacts 6, 7 are connected to spring contact members 8, 9 between which the lamp 2 is resiliently supported. Bent lips 16 engage indentations in the container 1 and prevent rotation of the contact springs 8, 9 when screwing on the caps 4, 5. The contact members 8. 9 may further be fitted with springs 10, 11 to prevent longitudinal motion of the lamp. A fuse may be arranged in one of the leads 12, 14, and a high resistance may be connected in circuit if a neon lamp is employed.
