Abstract

312,985. Bissell Carpet Sweeper Co., (Assignees of Pullen, F. W.). June 4, 1928, [Convention date]. Carpet-sweepers.-At each side of the sweeper a spring 6, secured by a bracliet 61 to the casing, is provided at its ends with rotatably-mounted rollers 63 which are adapted to press against the hubs 5 of the floor wheels, whereby the latter are held engaged with the pulley 31 of the brush shaft. Each of the brush pivots is secured to a member 9 adapted to slide vertically in a guideway formed in an end bar 4. The brush and floor wheels are connected by levers 7, each of which is pivoted centrally to the end bar, the inner end of the lever having a slot to embrace the brush pivot and the outer end being provided with a pivot mounted in the hub of a floor wheel.
