Abstract
312,369. Kurze, W. May 26, 1928, [Convention date.]. Feeding.-Machines of the slinger type for filling moulds with sand &c. have means for removing air from the front surfaces of the projector blades to prevent aeration of the sand and increase the solidity of the wads delivered. The rotor comprises a disc forming one end wall of a casing and mounted on a shaft driven from a motor through a clutch, or a gear-box or other speed controlling means. The inner wall n is in the form of an interchangeable ring. The blades f, g have convex leading faces receding towards the outer wall and formed at o to furnish air escape passages. Channels h on the outer wall have vents h<1> and a further air discharge pipe k is provided immediately in front of the sand supply orifice i. Suction devices may be provided to assist in air removal. The sand is delivered immediately beyond the supply point, the casing being cut away tangentially at p and the ring n having a flat n'.
