Abstract

311,777. Darche, A. A. A. May 16, 1928, [Convention date]. Pistons.-A gudgeon-pin is made hollow for lightness, and is provided with cylindrical and conical internal surfaces designed to ensure strength and facility in machining. In a pin loose in the connecting-rod, Fig. 1, cylindrical and conical parts 1, 2 are provided. In a pin, Fig. 2, recessed externally to provide room for a screw locking it to the rod, a reinforced part is provided by additional conical parts 5. Modifications are described wherein pins are slightly recessed externally at their central parts to avoid contact with the rods and are provided with additional compensatory internal cylindrical parts of reduced diameter.
