Abstract

Gill boxes etc.; drawing-frames.-In the preparation of wool, mohair, and similar animal fbres, which have been lubricated for prior treatment, the fibres are drawn by a device comprising rollers 5, 5<a>, 6, 6a, 8, 8<a> and a porcupine roller 7, and are finally passed through a twist tube 14 to the roller 16<a>. The porcupine roller is provided with means for clearing the fibres from the pins, such as bars g, Fig. 4, which slide by gravity between the rows of teeth to clear away any adhering fibres. The material is drawn from freely rotating bobbins mounted vertically in the creel. The roller 8 is driven and the roller 8<a> held against it by weighted levers 9.
