Abstract

Plate racks.-A plate rack of the kind in which the plates are supported on their edges side by side and spaced apart comprises in combination a slotted sheet metal plate support 5 and a slotted sheet metal spacing member 6, both detachably secured to a rigid frame member 1, which is so formed that it can be secured in a vertical position to an upright, or to the upright members extending from the hot plate of a gas cooker in which case it also serves as a plate warmer. The plate spacing member has a number of slots 7 of varying width while the plate support, has a number of corresponding slots 8, the edges of these slots being bent downwards and turned over. The edges of the plate spacing member and the plate support are turned over at 9 to form an upstanding beading and along the sides at 11 the upstanding beading has inserted within it metal rods 12 which project rearwardly therefrom and then bend downwards. Sockets 14 at the corners of the frame member 1 are provided with vertical bores 15 to receive the bent portions of the rods 12. Beneath the sockets 14 are located projections 18 serving to engage the rear sides of the bent-over rods and permitting a loose fit between the bores and rods. The sheet metal parts 5 and 6 are preferably porcelain-enamelled.
