Abstract
310,081. Soc. Anon. Hasler ci-devant l'Atelier des TÚlÚgraphes de G. Hasler, and Neu, M. Jan. 19, 1928. Metering.-The calling subscriber's meter is operated a variable number of times depending on the junction over which the connection is established by means of a rotary switch associated therewith. The operation takes place initially when the called subscriber replies, and is afterwards repeated at regular intervals during the conversation. On the reply of the called party, relay URb connects up relay RG, which energizes magnet LM, allowing the segment AS to be moved to the right by means of a spring to start the timing-device T, and connects the switch magnet SM over bank DWZ to a high-resistance relay RI, which acts in combination with relay RII as an interrupter. The switch is accordingly stepped, and metering impulses are sent to the meter GZ over bank DWK until contact 4 is reached when the stepping circuit is open. After 3 minutes, a momentary circuit is closed by the timing-device T for relays RK, RV, which fall back in turn, the latter being sluggish, and complete a fresh circuit for magnet SM, which is again connected to relay RI after one step, and the metering operation is repeated. By varying the grouping of the contacts of the rotary switch, any desired number of metering impulses may be sent. Upon release, relays URb, RG fall back, and magnet AM is connected to relay RII and steps the segment AS to the normal position shown, while the rotary switch is advanced to normal in a similar manner.
