Mechanical stoking.-In a mechanical stoker of the oscillating shovel type, the shovel shaft A is polygonal in cross-section and the spring lever B, tappet finger C, shovel arms D and bearing bushes b', E are provided with holes to fit the shaft, grub screws being provided to prevent longitudinal movement of the fittings on the shaft.
