Abstract

309,745. Burrows, S. April 26, 1928. Crank-actuated pumps; regulating delivery by by-passes.-A pump for oil &c. comprises a body 34 provided with a control inlet opening 36 and two radial bores 37 in which a double-ended ram is reciprocated by a crank pin 43 on a rotating shaft 42. Liquid is drawn into the chamber 36 from a pipe 33 and enters the bores 37 through ports 38 in the ram when the latter is at the inner end of its stroke. During the outstroke of the ram the liquid is delivered to the pipes 23 through valves 39 which are closed by an annular spring 41. The liquid may be, diverted through a by-pass 32, 30 to the supply tank by a handoperated valve 24.
